Senior Quality Technician Location:

Shift:

6 AM – 4:30 PM, M–Th, overtime on Friday’s

Pay:

$32–40/hr, DOE

Job Description The Senior Quality Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting the Quality Assurance Manager by upholding the highest standards of food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance. This position acts as a QA lead in the absence of the QA Manager and is integral to maintaining food safety systems, documentation, and compliance with regulatory bodies such as FDA, WSDA, SQF, HACCP, and PCQI. The role involves preparing and delivering QA performance reports and fostering a collaborative work environment to promote continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

The Senior QAT will be deeply involved in QA functions and ensure compliance with SQF, HACCP, Non‑GMO Project Verified, and internal food safety systems.

Maintain and update HACCP plans, process flow diagrams, and preventive controls documentation to ensure compliance with FDA, WSDA, Kosher, Non‑GMO Project Verified, and customer standards.

Perform daily label verification, product testing, environmental monitoring, and verify production/sanitation records in collaboration with Production leads.

Maintain and distribute accurate QA documentation, including quality logs, hold reports, corrective actions, and customer complaint records.

Review and ensure FDA compliance for consumer packaged goods labels, including ingredient statements, allergen declarations, net weight, and NFP layout.

Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions, supporting internal and external audits.

Participate in and occasionally lead training sessions on GMPs, food safety, allergen awareness, and documentation standards.

Promote open communication, respect, and collaboration among QA, production, and sanitation staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

Strong technical skills in food safety systems and regulatory compliance.

Proficiency in documentation and report generation.

Experience with FDA, WSDA, SQF, HACCP, and PCQI standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certification in HACCP and PCQI.

Experience in leading QA functions and audits.
