Job Description What You’ll Do

Perform tasks to maintain and implement safety standards, assist in the repair of equipment, and use tooling equipment to machine parts to precision dimensions.

Complete preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Assist in the repair of equipment using machinery, grinders, saws, hand tools, and other shop equipment.

Monitor equipment and operations to meet safety standards.

Comply with LOTO and other Amerex conduct, safety, and environmental procedures and programs. Advise management of any deviations from this program.

Follow diagrams and drawings to produce parts to precision dimensions.

Adjust functional parts of devices and controls.

Safely and efficiently operate machinery associated with tool shops, including but not limited to manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and heat‑treating ovens.

Maintain maintenance supplies by anticipating needed equipment and communicating needed supplies and irregularities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work 10‑hour shift – Monday to Thursday.

2nd shift: 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM.

Who You Are

Perform work under minimal supervision.

Handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher‑level staff.

Possess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.

Typically require accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 4–6 years of experience.

Formal technical training or equivalent experience.

Excellent communication and people skills.

Legible handwriting, basic computer skills required.

Knowledge of materials properties, machinability, and proper applications.

Mathematical skills.

Utilize email and computer‑based maintenance software.

Read & understand instructions, drawings, and electrical, pneumatic, & hydraulic schematics.

Complete paperwork accurately and timely.

Self‑directed.

Must provide tools as required to complete job duties.

Willingness to work overtime and schedule changes on short notice.

Location & Commitments

Permanent full‑time role based in Trussville, AL.

Overtime may be required to ensure client projects are completed and delivered on time.

Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary.

Additional Information Working Conditions This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold), and the employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics.

Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees are occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
