Job Description
Performs tasks to maintain and implement safety standards, assists in equipment repair, and uses tooling equipment to machine parts to precision dimensions.
Completes preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery.
Assists in repair of equipment using machinery, grinders, saws, hand tools and other shop equipment.
Monitors equipment and operations to meet safety standards.
Complies with LOTO and other Amerex conduct, safety, and environmental procedures and programs; advises management of any deviations from this program.
Follows diagrams and drawings to produce parts to precision dimensions.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and controls.
Operates machinery associated with tool shops safely and efficiently (manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, heat‑treating ovens).
Maintains maintenance supplies by anticipating needs and communicating required supplies and irregularities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work 10‑hour shift: Monday – Thursday, 2nd shift 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM.
Qualifications
Performs work under minimal supervision.
Handles complex issues and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher‑level staff.
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
Typically requires accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 4–6 years of experience.
Formal technical training or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Legible handwriting; basic computer skills required.
Knowledge of material properties, machinability, and proper applications.
Mathematical skills.
Utilizes email and computer‑based maintenance software.
Reads and understands instructions, drawings, and electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic schematics.
Completes paperwork accurately and timely.
Self‑directed.
Must provide tools as required to complete job duties.
Willingness to work overtime and schedule changes on short notice.

This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold). The employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics.
Physical Requirements:
Employees are occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
