We are seeking a skilled STIHL Mechanic / Small Engine Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will diagnose, maintain, and repair STIHL power equipment and other small engine outdoor power equipment while providing excellent customer service. This role combines hands‑on mechanical work with direct interaction with customers and team members. Key Responsibilities
Diagnose problems and determine repairs needed on STIHL and other outdoor power equipment. Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tune‑ups, spark plug and filter replacement, blade sharpening, belt changes, and related services. Disassemble, repair, and reassemble engine and equipment components. Complete work orders and accurately record labor, parts used, and customer recommendations. Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs, estimates, and proper equipment use and care. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures. Assist in equipment sales and demonstrate STIHL tools when required (optional based on business needs). Stay current with STIHL product knowledge, tools, and diagnostic procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in small engine repair or related mechanical work. Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of two‑cycle and four‑cycle small engines (STIHL experience preferred). Ability to use hand tools and specialty diagnostic equipment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications
STIHL Certification (Bronze, Silver, or Gold) or willingness to obtain. Experience with warranty repairs and service documentation. Basic computer skills for work orders and parts lookup. Sales experience or willingness to assist during peak periods. Working Conditions
Primarily works in a repair shop environment; occasional outdoor work and onsite repairs in varying weather conditions. Must follow all safety practices and use required protective equipment. What We Offer
