Responsibilities
Lead employees with fairness, consistency, respectfulness, and transparency.
Supervise, assign, coordinate, and evaluate semi‑skilled and skilled trades personnel based on skill, experience, and job knowledge.
Supervise and train employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
Recommend training to enhance employee skill and productivity, and assist in developing training procedures.
Break broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensure employees are trained to execute these plans.
Ensure compliance with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to drawings, procedures, and other technical documents.
Maintain manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations with significant financial impact on company performance.
Monitor job and budget performance for all shifts.
Perform management duties including Safety, Quality, Cost, and Schedule.
Follow additional common management responsibilities as listed in Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 and applicable policies and procedures.
Qualifications
HS Diploma/GED and 4 years of craft experience; or Ingalls Apprenticeship.
Willing to work any shift.
Internal applicants must have a superior attendance and disciplinary record.
Candidate may not have more than 3 unexcused absences in the last 180 days.
Candidate may not have any safety DANS that result in disciplinary layoff in the last 180 days.
Candidate may not have more than 2 total DANS in the last 180 days (excluding lost tool).
Nice to Have
Documented leadership qualities/experience.
Safety proponent.
Timely completion of assignments.
