Role Leaders sought. Immediate need for leaders who can drive accountability in a professional, civil environment. Must be able to demonstrate ability to lead with fairness, consistency, respectfulness, and transparency.

Responsibilities

Supervise, assign, coordinate, and evaluate semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience, and job knowledge.

Supervise and train employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.

Recommend training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assist in development of training procedures.

Break broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensure employees are trained to perform these plans.

Responsible for compliance with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc.

Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance.

Supervise qualified trades staff and monitor job and budget performance for all shifts.

Review the Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 and relevant policies and procedures before applying for the position.

Requirements

HS Diploma/GED and 3 years of electrical experience; or Ingalls Apprenticeship applicable to electrical.

Must have 1 year active experience as a journeyman at Ingalls, or be a graduate of the electrical apprenticeship program, or have 3+ years of documented journeyman experience in electrical.

Superior attendance and disciplinary record.

Cannot have more than 3 unexcused absences in the last 180‑day period.

Cannot have any safety DANS that result in a disciplinary layoff in the last 180‑day period.

Cannot have more than 2 total DANS in the last 180‑day period (excluding lost tool).

Must be willing to work any shift.

Nice to Have Applicant must be able to supervise, motivate, and train employees. Have communication, interpersonal and leadership skills and be a current Operations Employee.
