This position delivers to all types of customers, including Foodservice. The driver operates the delivery vehicle and delivers product to the store. Responsibilities include ongoing rotating and stocking of product on store shelves, displays, coolers, and vending equipment. The driver builds small displays, sets up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners, generates invoices, and handles daily settlement of cash and charges. Frequent interaction with store management and store receiving personnel is required for load acceptance.
The role requires physical exertion such as lifting and loading cases ranging from 20-45 pounds repeatedly during work hours and pushing/pulling using 40-150 pounds of force occasionally. The driver must also reach, squat, and bend while delivering and merchandising products. Unloading pallets with an electronic pallet jack or hand truck and placing the product in a designated backroom area are part of the duties.
Primary Accountabilities
Deliver product and execute all promotions
Service all scheduled customers by the end of shift
Merchandise all accounts to local standards
Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account
Basic Qualifications
21 years or older
Pass the DOT drug test and DOT Physical
Valid U.S. CDL with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)
In all California locations except Stockton, both non-excepted intrastate and non-excepted interstate status are accepted for this position. In Stockton, CA, only non-excepted interstate status is accepted.
Helpful Experience
Operating trucks requiring a Valid U.S. CDL license (e.g., driving forwards, backwards, or maneuvering in tight spaces)
Adhering to all DOT regulations (reading and maintaining documentation such as medical cards)
Merchandising products (filling shelves, building displays, making products look attractive, rotating product, cleaning shelves, removing out-of-stock and out-of-date items)
Using equipment to aid in hauling loads (operating pallet jacks, using dock plates, load bars, or straps)
Operating equipment such as pallet jacks, lift gates on trailers, hand trucks, and breakdowns
Documenting DOT regulations (reading and maintaining documentation such as medical cards)
Ability to communicate effectively in English
