This role offers a base pay range of
$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr .
Responsibilities
Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Registers sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service; recommends items; recommends trade‑up and/or companion items.
Registers customer purchases, handles cash, processes voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges; assists customers to the OTC aisle.
Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised; performs inventory; checks in and prices merchandise.
Performs pharmacy duties: entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, checking interactions, and assisting pharmacists with scheduling and workflow.
Reports prescription errors immediately; adheres to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
Processes manual claims for third‑party prescription programs; performs clerical duties as assigned.
Supports pharmacy department on inventory management, ordering, unpacking, and storing shipments.
Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
Constructs and maintains displays, promotional and seasonal structures; completes resets.
Assists with separation and placement of food items; restocks using FIFO.
Has knowledge of store systems and equipment.
Provides customer service in photo area and pick‑up responsibilities.
Assists with exterior and interior maintenance.
Complies with all company policies; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
Attends training, completes PPLs requested by manager or corporate, and acquires continuing education credits, maintaining knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.
Basic Qualifications
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
Prefer good computer skills.
Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
Prefer PTCB certification.
