PART TIME OPERATOR
Summary Of Position
As a Part‑Time Operator, you will rotate through the Assembly/Resize, Fabrication, Finishing, Metal Stamping, and other departments as assigned. Trainers will assist with the learning process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assembly/Resize
Assembles/resizes parts such as handles, blades, gears, or springs for firearm magazines
Resizes parts using gauges to meet customer specifications
Positions parts following guides such as holes, edges, and prongs
Inspects assembled parts for quality and accuracy
Air Press – Notcher
Checks the Air Press‑Notcher to ensure the machine is ready for use
Checks the die to ensure the correct tool matches the production run per customer requirements
Removes debris from the Air Press‑Notcher by wiping or blowing with a hose
Lubricates the Air Press using a lubrication solution
Welder
Welds or tack‑welds overlapping edges of positioned components to fabricate sheet metal assemblies such as magazine tubes
Operates the welder by placing the magazine tube inside the machine
Activates the welder and monitors the welding time
Black Oxide
Interacts with controls to start, stop, and run equipment
Ensures water valves are turned on or off as needed
Verifies liquid levels within plating tanks
Moves racks from one end of the line to the other
Cleans racks between individual plating tanks
Tumbling
Evaluates the quality of products being tumbled and recognizes acceptable quality standards
Identifies equipment malfunctions and determines corrective actions to keep the line running and minimize rework
Loads tumblers with magazine parts to meet the specified run schedule
Assists in cleaning the equipment
Metal Stamping
Operates part‑in, part‑out, inspection, and pack‑out of the 45‑, 60‑, and 80‑Ton metal stamping machine (secondary presses)
Troubleshoots presses while observing OSHA safety and health standards
Works with maintenance to understand lock‑out/tag‑out, e‑stop, and other safety features
Collaborates with maintenance, engineering, tooling or supervision to set‑up, fault, and downtime issues
Understands and demonstrates operation of the main control panels and key switches
Observes tool & die‑makers making changes to the dies to understand die issues during production
Minimum Requirements
0‑6 months manufacturing experience
Fine motor dexterity skills required to maintain quality and productivity
Basic problem‑solving and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi‑task, adapt, and think analytically
Ability to use micrometers, gauges, and other hand tools for measuring and inspecting
Ability to read and follow instructions outlined in production documents
