Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead daily operations at a high‑volume remanufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant performance, including production, staffing, quality, safety, and cost control. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing leadership experience and a continuous improvement mindset, ideally within automotive or remanufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities Plant Operations & Leadership
Lead all day‑to‑day plant operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments are met
Oversee production, maintenance, quality, and logistics functions
Establish clear expectations and drive accountability across teams
Production Planning & Execution
Develop and manage production plans and schedules
Optimize labor, equipment utilization, and throughput to meet customer demand
People Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production staff
Ensure proper staffing levels and conduct performance evaluations
Foster a safe, positive, and performance‑driven work environment
Continuous Improvement
Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement initiatives
Reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality
Financial & KPI Management
Manage plant budgets and operating costs
Track and report key performance indicators related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
Quality & Compliance
Ensure products meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements
Maintain strong quality control and audit processes
Safety & Environmental Compliance
Champion workplace safety and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
Lead initiatives to reduce incidents and improve safety culture
Supplier & Vendor Coordination
Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
Reporting
Provide regular operational, financial, and performance updates to senior leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
5 years of plant or operations leadership experience in manufacturing, automotive, or remanufacturing
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, Lean principles, and quality systems
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
Solid financial acumen with experience managing budgets and KPIs
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
Experience working with ERP systems
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
Ability to lift up to 250 pounds as required
Willingness to work flexible hours or be on‑call to support production needs
