Summary Under general supervision, develops curricula and creates, implements, and delivers educational programs forstudentto achieveSchoolgoals. Advises, tests, andteachesstudents in a variety of subjects. Plans,developsand oversees community outreach programs. Promotes programs through community networking and recruitingefforts;recruits andtrainstutors and teachers. May coordinate and implement recruitment and retention programs,special events, and support services. May provide financial aid/scholarship advisement for targeted student populations.
Duties and Responsibilities Develops, plans, and implements curriculum, lesson plans, and educational programs forstudentwithin areas of expertise.
Advises, tests, andteachesstudentsin a variety of academic subjects. Presents and reinforces learning concepts within a specified subject or subject area.
Answers student inquiries and resolves problems related to curriculum and course prerequisites
Plans,developsand oversees community outreach activities for targeted student populations.
Preparesappropriate documentationand reports on programs and on student progress.
Coordinates retention activities including student mentor programs, tutor services, advising, and study skills workshops; plans, develops, and coordinatesspecial events.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experiencedirectly relatedto the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities May requirevalidFloridaState teaching license in secondary education in a specific area of expertise asappropriate.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to plan and implement promotional programs.
Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies.
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
Spiritual Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior
