Position Summary: The sanitation manager is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and hygiene of a facility. Here are some of their key responsibilities: developing sanitation protocols, compliance, inspecting and evaluating, managing staff, equipment maintenance, resolving issues, waste disposal, health and safety audits, inventory management.
Position Responsibilities:
Create and implement sanitation policies and procedures to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Ensure the facility meets local, state, and federal sanitation regulations.
Regularly inspect the facility for cleanliness and adherence to sanitation protocols.
Coordinate and manage sanitation staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
Oversee the safe and effective use and maintenance of sanitation equipment.
Investigate and resolve sanitation‑related issues promptly.
Establish and ensure compliance with waste disposal procedures.
Conduct regular audits to identify potential risks.
Order sanitation supplies and manage inventory.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.
5–7 years related experience.
6 months – 1 year supervisory or management experience.
Experience in various sanitation roles is crucial to understand the workflow and challenges.
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is often required.
Ensuring thorough cleanliness and hygiene.
Efficiently manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Effective communication with staff and management.
Understand sanitation protocols and regulations.
Preferred qualifications:
Food Protection Manager Certification
Registered Sanitarian
