Accounting Manager (CPA)
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid) | Remote considered About the Role
We are hiring an
Accounting Manager
to help scale and strengthen a corporate accounting function during a period of rapid growth and acquisitions. Reporting to the
Director of Accounting , this role will lead the
Corporate GL team
and play a key role in improving the month-end close, strengthening internal controls, and addressing complex technical accounting matters. This is a
hands-on leadership role
for someone who enjoys solving problems, building processes, and taking ownership—rather than simply escalating issues. The Accounting Manager will work closely with senior finance leadership and have meaningful visibility in a fast-growing, private equity–backed environment. What You’ll Do
Lead, mentor, and develop the Corporate GL accounting team Own and improve the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Research and apply GAAP guidance, including
lease accounting and other complex areas Support annual audits and partner with external auditors as needed Assist with
M&A-related accounting , including
purchase price accounting and acquisition integrations
(preferred) Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, FP&A, and IT on reporting and process improvements Help establish and enhance accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls Proactively identify issues and recommend practical solutions What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field CPA required 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and industry Prior experience leading or mentoring accounting staff Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to research, document, and apply GAAP M&A / purchase price accounting experience strongly preferred Lease accounting experience (ASC 842) preferred Experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented or acquisition-heavy environments a plus Proficient with ERP systems and advanced Excel Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset Why This Role
