Senior Project Manager - Transmission Routing and Siting (190067)

What you will do:
Develop buildable routing and siting solutions for utility and developer infrastructure
Collaborate with project teams, including utility, developer staff and consultants
Engage with stakeholders such as government agencies, regulators, communities, landowners
Prepare testimony and technical documentation for defensible line routes and facility site selection
Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget
Train and mentor newer staff to produce client deliverables
Build key relationships with HDR and utility staff
Apply strategic thinking, networking, client relations and lead development
Travel average 10‑20% of time expected
Perform other duties as needed
Ideal Candidate
Prior experience managing and providing technical leadership on projects, looking for broader leadership overseeing complex projects
Strong background in routing, siting, regulatory approvals for electric facilities; expert witness testimony experience desired
The successful candidate will perform non‑routine tasks on multiple projects, research, write concise technical documents, innovate, and follow through to completion. Must be detail‑oriented, organized, effective communicator, team player focused on quality and client service.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, community planning, engineering, landscape architecture or related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in linear projects involving land acquisition, routing or environmental planning
Minimum 8 years experience writing proposals, developing scopes of work, budget and schedules for complex environmental projects with multi‑disciplinary teams and multi‑agency efforts focused on siting and routing studies
Experience preparing applications for state utility regulatory agencies and system operators
Experience providing expert witness testimony
Understanding of permit requirements
Strong conceptual, organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and research abilities
Ability to support multiple complex time‑sensitive projects effectively
Identify and resolve issues efficiently
Positive proactive interaction with design and construction teams
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field
10 years related experience
Minimum 5 years of project management experience
Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software
Excellent organizational, project management and communication skills
Commitment to being an active participant of employee‑owned culture
