The
Safety Manager
is a critical, high-impact leadership role responsible for driving an
enterprise-wide safety strategy
to build a proactive culture of
risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement . This leader will oversee a team of field safety professionals, ensure compliance with
CAL/OSHA and other regulations , and manage all incident and claims processes. The role requires
exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills
to influence executive-level decision-making and achieve

Minimum Requirements
Authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
Bachelor's degree
Seven (7) or more years of Safety experience in a construction environment
Demonstrated experience with construction occupational safety risks including, but not limited to, crane rigging and lifting, fall from heights, lift trucks, trenching and excavation, hot work and confined space.
Demonstrated knowledge in development of Job Safety and Job Hazard analysis (JHA and JSA)
Bilingual English / Spanish
Travel 10-20% to field sites
Additional Preferred Competencies
OSHA 10, 30, 500 Construction certificate(s)
Professional Certification (ASP, GSP, CSP, CHST, etc.)
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities I. Leadership & Strategy Development
Lead and develop
the field safety team, setting clear expectations, ensuring accountability, and fostering a culture of trust and continuous growth.
Model and enforce
safety protocols consistently and fairly, inspiring the team and operations through exemplary practice.
Demonstrate
resilience and adaptability
in dynamic field environments, maintaining composure and patience when addressing challenges.
II. Data Analysis & Executive Reporting
Design, manage, and analyze
safety dashboards,
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) , and trend reports to identify actionable insights.
Conduct and lead
comprehensive
Root Cause Analyses (RCA)
for all incidents and near misses, developing and communicating effective corrective action plans.
Deliver compelling presentations
to senior leadership, clearly articulating risks, reporting progress, and proposing strategic solutions with clarity and confidence.
III. Incident & Claims Management
Oversee the seamless flow
of the entire incident reporting and claims process, including timely triage, thorough investigation, complete documentation, and case closure.
Partner cross-functionally
with Risk and HR to manage injury cases, support workers’ compensation strategies, and facilitate return-to-work programs.
IV. Field Engagement & Compliance
Maintain a
strong, visible field presence
by conducting regular inspections, audits, and observations to reinforce compliance.
Ensure strict adherence to
CAL/OSHA
and all other relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Collaborate
with operations leaders to proactively identify risks, resolve on-site issues, and continuously refine
Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs
and IIPP sub-programs.
V. Employee Education & Engagement
Facilitate and deliver
essential safety training, new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and effective incentive programs to promote shared safety ownership.
Actively engage
employees with empathy and support, fostering open dialogue.
Use
emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills
to constructively address resistance and drive positive behavioral outcomes.
