Supervisor II, Aggregate Operations (Supervisor) Job Summary The Production Supervisor is a critical leadership role responsible for the front‑line management of daily operations at a Martin Marietta facility. This position ensures that all production, maintenance, and distribution activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the company’s "Guardian Angel" safety culture and "ONE" team values. You will lead a team of hourly employees (typically 8–12 direct reports), fostering an environment of accountability and continuous improvement while meeting production targets and quality control standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Champion the Guardian Angel safety program, ensuring a zero‑incident goal for every team member.

Ensure 100% compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA regulations and state/local environmental permits.

Conduct weekly/monthly safety meetings, perform routine site inspections, and oversee "Wingman" safety checks to identify hazards immediately.

Document all safety incidents, near‑misses, and corrective actions with urgency and transparency.

Coordinate daily production schedules to achieve high efficiency and output while maintaining strict QC standards.

Work closely with maintenance to schedule and implement preventative maintenance programs for plant and mobile equipment.

Manage the purchase of supplies and equipment in accordance with company policy to reduce costs and improve vendor efficiency.

Coordinate staffing with the Plant Manager and HR to comply with labor law and affirmative action.

Assist in developing the annual HR business plan and ensure employee development through training and cross‑training.

Generate profit plans, AFEs, market analyses and special reports for Plant Manager approval.

Monitor and report KPIs related to production volume, downtime, and operational costs.

Direct, teach, and coach an hourly workforce, conduct annual performance evaluations, and recommend merit increases or discipline when necessary.

Develop self‑directed work teams through cross‑training, safety education, and technical skill building.

Maintain exceptional plant appearance and housekeeping standards to reflect Martin Marietta’s commitment to excellence.

Monitor dust collection, water management, and site reclamation efforts to minimize environmental impact.

Qualifications Education

BS degree in Mining, Construction Management, or relevant experience.

Work Experience

4+ years in Aggregates, Mining, or Construction Operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations and compliance.

Mechanical aptitude.

Technical aptitude.

Effective communication (written and spoken).

Strong organizational skills.

Strong knowledge of plant components.

Budgeting experience.

Compensation The hiring range for this position is $92,000 – $127,000 exclusive of benefits or bonuses. Compensation will be determined based on geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. This role is eligible for an annual bonus program. Bonuses are awarded based on the performance of the organization and the employee.
