Vaco is staffing for a full time Payroll and Accounting Specialist, onsite in Mandarin. In this role we are seeking a highly organized and independent Accounting & Payroll Support Specialist to assist with payroll processing, bookkeeping, and accounting-related research. This role will serve as a backup for payroll processing and requires someone who is comfortable learning systems, researching compliance requirements, and working with minimal supervision once trained. This role has normal office hours, Monday – Friday and paid hourly.

Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized and independent Accounting & Payroll Support Specialist to assist with payroll processing, bookkeeping, and accounting‑related research. This role will serve as a backup for payroll processing and requires someone who is comfortable learning systems, researching compliance requirements, and working with minimal supervision once trained.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with payroll processing and serve as a backup payroll processor

Work within accounting and payroll systems such as ADP and Sage Accounting

Perform basic bookkeeping tasks and data entry

Research state‑specific tax and compliance requirements (e.g., Department of Revenue, employment taxes, filings)

Navigate government and regulatory websites independently to determine company obligations

Maintain accurate records and documentation

Provide general administrative and accounting support as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong organizational and time‑management skills

Prior experience using any accounting or bookkeeping software (Sage, QuickBooks, ADP, or similar)

Basic understanding of payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting workflows

Ability to research, interpret, and summarize regulatory or tax‑related information

Comfortable working independently and taking initiative once given direction

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Experience

Payroll processing support

Bookkeeping or accounting assistant roles

Experience working in small business environments

Familiarity with multi‑state payroll or tax research
