Outpatient Billing & Collections Specialist
Pay:
$23–$25 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role Addison Group is seeking an experienced
Outpatient Billing & Collections Specialist
for our client in a high-volume hospital outpatient setting. This role requires strong knowledge of commercial insurance billing and collections for physical, speech, and occupational therapy services.
Key Responsibilities
Process outpatient hospital billing and manage collections for commercial insurance accounts.
Handle
high-volume workload :
Billing: ~60 accounts/day (beginning of month).
Collections: ~25 accounts/day (mid to end of month).
Review denials and submit appeals promptly.
Correct billing errors and verify account details for accuracy.
Understand and apply modifiers, reimbursement rules, and contract terms.
Work with WellSky (collections) and Anovo (billing) systems.
Participate in daily huddles and maintain open communication with management.
Qualifications
Minimum
3 years of outpatient hospital billing and collections experience .
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance billing for therapy services (physical, speech, occupational).
Familiarity with ASC billing is a plus; physician office billing experience is not applicable.
Ability to read and interpret contracts and identify discrepancies.
Stable work history (2+ years in previous roles preferred).
