R&D Chemist

Mid‑sized specialty chemical company is looking for an experienced coatings formulation chemist at its main R&D Lab in the far west suburbs of Chicago. If you have expertise in coatings formulation and enjoy research and development, this could be a great opportunity for you! Duties:
Develop paints and coatings in the laboratory – new product development and improvement of existing products
Support manufacturing
Support Sales – many development projects come from sales; chemists are asked to match competitor products in the marketplace
Improve existing products and support customers with product issues
0-5% travel

Job Requirements Technical Qualifications:
BS degree in chemistry or related field and 2+ years of industry experience in formulation of industrial coatings. Experience in aerosols highly preferred; formulation of both water‑ and solvent‑based paints is also of interest.
