Job Summary We are seeking a seasoned machine operator with a strong mechanical aptitude who is eager to transition into the print industry. In this role, you’ll leverage your mechanical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail to master press setup, ink management, and print quality controls. You’ll collaborate closely with production teams and engineers to optimize workflows, ensure safety compliance, and uphold rigorous quality standards. Your open-minded, fast-learning approach will be key as you embrace new technologies and processes unique to print manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Set up machinery for production runs, including calibration, tooling changes, and safety checks
Operate a variety of equipment according to standard operating procedures and quality guidelines
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime
Monitor machinery performance, record production data, and report deviations or defects
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality teams to optimize processes and implement improvements
Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations
Minimum Qualifications of Position
At least five years of experience in industrial machine setup, operation, and maintenance
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical manuals and blueprints
Proven track record as a fast learner who embraces new challenges and adapts quickly to evolving processes
Open-minded approach to learning a new industry and adopting best practices
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with diverse teams
Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications of Position
Military background or experience working in a disciplined, process-driven environment
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish to support diverse team communication
Experience operating additional material-handling equipment
Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
Knowledge and Skills
Mechanical aptitude and solid grasp of machine operation principles
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
Proficiency in setting up equipment: installation, alignment, calibration, and tooling changes
Competence in routine maintenance: lubrication, adjustments, part replacements, and basic repairs
Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Familiarity with safety regulations and iso guidelines
Quality control know-how: inspecting parts, using gauges, micrometers, and maintaining tolerances
Experience recording production data, tracking metrics, and maintaining accurate logs
Comfort with computerized controls and interfaces (PLCs, CNC systems, HMIs)
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, supervisors, and peers
Fast-learning mindset with adaptability to new technologies, processes, and industry requirements
Teamwork and interpersonal abilities to support continuous improvement and cross-functional projects
Pay Statement The national pay range for this role is listed in the posting. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
