The Manufacturing Engineer Fabrication team is integral to the success of the two manufacturing plants in Goodyear. The fabrication department there consists of more than 75 machines producing hundreds of sheet‑metal components, plastic components, and copper tubes.

Primary Responsibilities

Order, install, start‑up, and support fabrication equipment including flat sheet laser cutters, press brakes, turret punch presses, panel benders, thermoformers, 5‑axis routers, and custom automated equipment.

Drive equipment uptime and reliability through proactive maintenance strategies and process optimization. Participate in downtime reviews to drive permanent corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

Provide guidance to the production support and maintenance groups in troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. Lead root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective measures.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and improve overall operational performance.

Plan and coordinate upgrades on existing fabrication equipment working with external vendors, utility contractors, and maintenance team.

Serve as the manufacturing engineering representative on cross‑functional team projects related to new product development, continuous improvement, and cost reduction.

Ensure that safety, compliance with industry standards, quality, and cost are maintained or improved in the manufacturing process.

This position requires a pre‑employment drug/alcohol test and background check, which will be administered after a conditional job offer is extended. Qualifications Education Bachelors or better in Industrial Engineering or related field.

Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Experience

6 to 12 days of domestic travel for training over the first 4 months.

Ability to think outside the box to generate new improvement ideas.

Ability to work on multiple large projects with strict timelines.

Self‑starter with the ability to establish, prioritize, and organize responsibilities.

Good leadership and communication skills.

Team‑oriented, helpful, and supportive.

5+ years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing plant.
