This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for the role will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Responsibilities
Install various parts and assemblies such as landing gear, aircraft control surfaces, exterior panels, carpets, blankets, roller trays/ball mats, stowbins, sidewalls, ceiling panels, lavatories, galleys, doors, and seats.
Install various aircraft system components such as tubing, valves, regulators, actuators, compressors, and ducts.
Use various hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as screwdrivers, ratchets, power screwdriver, multimeters, and continuity testers.
Technical Skills
7+ years experience in aviation/aerospace.
7+ years experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.
7+ years experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
7+ years experience in a technical or mechanical field performing work with basic hand, power and/or pneumatic (air) tools.
7+ years experience with hydraulic and pneumatic system design.
Physical Demands
Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as flexion/extension, handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, walking, climbing/balancing, crawling, crouching (squatting).
Carry / lift up to 35 pounds.
Ability to work with high hazard chemicals.
Training: 8-10 weeks of training required.
Shift: Variable shifts – contractors must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift depending on business needs.
Location: Boeing South Carolina Site – Airport and North Campus SOW Business need. Building location dependent on business need.
Successful completion and clearance of all screening requirements is a contingency for this assignment.
Hourly Pay Rate: $25 – $30 USD.
