This position is located in Ville Platte, LA in the Lafayette Region Child Support Office in Evangeline Parish. This is an essential administrative position which provides support to the core mission of the Department of Children and Family Services. The position provides clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff, applicants and clients of the Child Support Enforcement Office. Job Duties:
Assist Attorneys with case preparations
Works independently on cases assigned and prepares appropriate legal pleadings, obtains signatures on various forms, and documents pertinent data
Attends court and assists the attorneys, when requested
Assists the CSE Manager and CSE Supervisors with clerical support
Provides functional assistance to the clerical staff with budget preparations, human resources forms, vehicle maintenance, inventory, and purchasing.
Supervises Administrative Coordinators and provides assistance and/or guidance on an as needed basis
Serves as primary time administrator for payroll for the entire CSE office
Performs related duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department
Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type:
This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Career Progression:
This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, 3 or 4. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
Compensation:
The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
