DRS Marlo Coil manufactures robust heat transfer, refrigeration, and air handling equipment for industrial, commercial, utility and marine markets. Our custom‑engineered heat transfer solutions are used in a variety of configurations to cool, heat, and dehumidify air streams for process and building comfort. We pride ourselves on having equipment on most surface‑combatant ships and submarines in the U.S. Navy fleet. Additionally, DRS Marlo Coil is positioned for significant growth in the Industrial/Commercial markets.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support to engineers and scientists on a variety of complex components, devices, materials, products, processes and/or equipment.
Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, sketches, and running sheets of significant complexity.
Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and safety rules.
Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with state and federal regulations and any certification required to maintain certifications.
Lead training of new team members.
Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials.
Perform key performance indicators: quality of finished product (pass/fail rates), raw‑material stock levels, compliance outcomes.
Diagnose causes of electrical, optical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Modify complex electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations.
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment including CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and shock vibration test equipment.
Repair and rebuild pumps (water and vacuum). Knowledge of environmental test chambers, water towers, heat exchangers and air‑conditioning systems.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in the field or a related area.
Strong decision‑making and leadership skills.
Experience handling small, delicate components using ESD practices.
Soldering and wire‑bonding experience is a plus.
Safe handling of chemicals.
Experience with various computer applications, including Access, Excel, and LabVIEW.
Experience with MRP is a plus.
Good mechanical skills.
