Diagnose refrigeration and refrigeration equipment malfunctions and make the needed repairs or modifications to the electrical and mechanical apparatus as needed to keep the systems operating efficiently at all times. Perform the equipment manufacturers suggested maintenance programs on a fixed schedule. You are expected to adhere to the company’s mission, vision and value statements. Be knowledgeable of the company’s management systems, policies and initiatives for Hospitality, Environmental, and Health and Safety. You have specific responsibilities within these areas and are expected to understand them.

Job Responsibilities:
Maintain an adequate inventory of materials, equipment and tools required to perform routine tasks without delays
The journeyman craftsmen will be assigned limited standby duties after hours and week-ends which requires carrying a paging beeper or two way radio. This duty is rotated equally among the department staff
Must maintain accurate inventory records of all refrigerant gas. This includes gas purchased, how much was put in each piece of equipment, and what was recycled or reclaimed per EPA requirements.
Supports company environmental initiatives by maintaining equipment to maximize energy, water and fuel efficiency.
Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner in a safe environment.
Observe all requirements for the GTLC Hazard Communication Program
Attend training and observe all applicable OSHA and other regulatory compliance programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required by human resources and the EH&S office. Programs include, but are not limited to: permit-required confined spaces; respiratory protection; blood-borne pathogens; personal protective equipment (PPE); hearing conservation; lockout-tagout; spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan; drivers safety; and, general proper operation of machinery and equipment.
Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed by supervisor.
Supervise, organize and plan refrigeration maintenance and construction projects on a daily, weekly and monthly schedule.
Every Maintenance Department staff member will be assigned other technical work within the department when maintenance crisis occur within the company or work in their particular technical field is temporarily or permanently reduced. This job summary is intended as a guide, it is not an all inclusive job description.
Responsible for the start-up and shut down of all refrigerated equipment for the operating season.
Must clean up your job site and work area when finished with the assigned task.
Other duties as assigned by management.

High school graduate or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of refrigeration experience or equivalent (ice machines, commercial refrigeration and heating equipment

Preferred Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend schematic
Systems troubleshooting and problem solving
Multiple fields of experience (kitchen, laundry, electrical, etc.)
