MAJOR Oil & gas client
in St. John's, NL.
Description The Subsea Installation Engineer is responsible for the Project Management Environment (PME) stage 2-3 technical deliverables for a Mooring replacement project. This role works with 3rd party expertise to deliver pre‑FEED and FEED engineering documentation to prepare the project for execution, including scope identification and definition, alternatives evaluation, risk identification, interface management, specifications and procedures. The candidate is a senior engineer with subsea hardware and/or subsea installation experience, working within the project team and interfacing with other departments to manage the 3rd party scope in a fast‑paced environment.
Deliverables
Pre‑FEED and FEED engineering for projects to support the requirements for PME gates 2 and 3
Scope identification and definition
Identification and evaluation of options
Concept definition
Functional specifications for equipment and/or procedures
Risk identification and management
Interface identification and management
Input into estimates and schedules
Co‑ordination and facilitation of technical reviews
Oversight and management of 3rd party technical scopes
Working with Developments, Operations, and Major Projects teams
Knowledge of subsea equipment, particularly mooring systems
Knowledge of subsea equipment installation or offshore construction
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Project management skillsTime management skills
Complex problem‑solving skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
P. Eng. certification
10+ years subsea engineering experience – hardware and/or installation and SAT diving operations
Experience with mooring systems design and/or mooring system equipment repair/replacement
Familiar with codes, standards and appropriate safety criteria related to subsea equipment and offshore construction
Offshore travel will be required on an ad hoc basis during project execution. Candidate must have ability to complete the Basic Survival Training (BST) training and work offshore.
