Automotive Technician / Mechanic

Schedule:
Core hours of Monday‑Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. with flexibility to work outside of these hours occasionally
Compensation:
$18-$25/hr based on experience

We are seeking a dependable
Automotive Technician / Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic
to maintain and repair company‑owned vehicles and trucks used in our repossession operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring our fleet is safe and operational. This position involves preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and keep our field teams moving.
Automotive Technician / Mechanic Responsibilities
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations, brake service, fluid checks)
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards and are road‑ready for daily use
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, inspections, and repairs
Respond promptly to urgent repair requests to reduce operational delays
Coordinate with management to schedule vehicle service and prioritize repairs
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies related to vehicle maintenance
Requirements
Proven experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic preferred; fleet maintenance experience preferred
Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical components
Proficient with diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and technical manuals
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record – must be able to obtain DOT card
Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug testing
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
Must be willing to travel to our other PA and OH locations as needed
