Piper Companies is seeking a

Machinist

to support an in-house machining program for a leading industrial organization. The

Machinist

role is ideal for an experienced professional with CNC programming expertise and the ability to produce custom parts to minimize equipment downtime.

This role is a contract opportunity and requires you to sit on site in Clayton, NC.

Responsibilities of the Machinist:

Program and operate CNC lathes (Haas ST25LY) using G-code and onboard software.

Manufacture small batches of precision parts, primarily stainless steel and occasional Hastelloy.

Interpret technical drawings and 3D designs to create accurate machining programs.

Build and maintain a pool of parts, including scanning and programming components.

Provide training to team members on CNC machine operation and best practices.

Requirements of the Machinist:

6+ years of CNC machining and programming experience.

Proficiency with Haas ST25LY and G-code programming.

Strong 3D design background and familiarity with CAM software.

Ability to produce custom parts and troubleshoot machining challenges.

Must work on-site in Clayton, NC.

Compensation for the Machinist includes:

Salary range: $30.00- $50.00 per hour, depending on experience

Contract role with potential for extension
