Position Summary The
Occupational Medicine Physician
works closely and collaboratively with the Senior Director of Practice Operations, Nurse Manager, SVP of Ambulatory Care Services, and AVP of Primary Care to ensure high-quality, safe, timely, and patient-centered care. This role supports Grady’s mission and vision through leadership in occupational medicine functions.
Job Responsibilities
Ensures provision of safe, high quality, proactive, comprehensive, culturally-competent medical care
Ensures appropriate hand off for work-related injury and illness to WC vendor; assists with incident management and OSHA reporting
Attends committee meetings and gives reports to ensure medical compliance of employees
Works with Director of EOHW to ensure compliance with all regulatory and system guidelines and requirements.
Identifies clinical issues for quality improvement/process improvement/research projects and collaborates and implements such projects
Maintains active privileges on Grady Health System Medical Staff and timely completion of required administrative paperwork
Timely and active monitoring of in-basket messages and completion of charts and forms
Works with AVP of Primary Care and Practice Manager to monitor and manage clinical operational processes including cycle time, volume, and access as well as quality of care
Provides timely and effective responses to patient complaints; monitors patient satisfaction scores.
Utilizes evidence-based decision-making process to diagnose and treat patients and ensures providers under their supervision do the same
Practices AIDET and takes personal responsibility for patient engagement
Fosters an environment of collaboration, professionalism, patient/colleague safety, quality care, continuous improvement.
Attends monthly department and clinic meetings.
Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
Doctorate of Medicine (MD or DO) required
Board Certified in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Medicine
Must hold an active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Georgia
Current DEA license required
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Medical Examiner (CME) or eligibility
