The Department of Clinical Cancer Prevention at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a multidisciplinary department dedicated to advancing cancer prevention through a broad range of research from laboratory-based studies to clinical trials and providing comprehensive prevention services and education. Our mission is to reduce cancer incidence, morbidity, and mortality through integrated approaches at the local, national, and international levels. We are currently recruiting a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. Instructor with a strong interest in colorectal cancer research, particularly in the areas of cancer prevention, cancer genetics, and early detection.

This faculty role will focus on basic and/or translational research to uncover the molecular drivers of cancer and develop innovative strategies for prevention, with a special emphasis on reducing the burden of colorectal cancer.

Job Specific Competencies The Instructor will:

Apply scientific expertise to plan, coordinate, and execute funded research projects

Develop new research initiatives to support future funding opportunities

Maintain a consistent record of publications and grant submissions

Collaborate with mentors, staff, and research teams to evaluate findings

Prepare reports and manuscripts for publication and presentation

Ensure compliance with institutional safety and research standards

Research Environment Faculty members are encouraged to lead studies exploring:

Novel cancer screening and early detection methods

Risk assessment tools

Preventive interventions
