Equipment Maintenance Technician

to join our well‑established Vernon Hills, IL manufacturing division. Summary To ensure the proper operation of all production and facilities equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Essential Duties

Perform scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery (repair or replace worn or defective parts, motors and controls as necessary).

Repair, troubleshoot, and maintain large conventional presses and custom production equipment.

Maintain all pumps, HVAC, presses, tumblers, and sanding equipment.

Maintain cooling tower, parts washer, and dryers.

Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues.

Respond to equipment stoppage and mechanical breakdowns.

Ensure proper documentation and information is recorded daily.

Take an active part in training and helping others as needed.

Participate in continuous improvement teams.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing equipment maintenance role, ideally 2+ years, with blueprint reading ability.

Technical, vocational, or college degree or equivalent work experience. Mechatronics ideal.

Hydraulic and mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills required; electrical ideal.

Ability to diagnose and make good decisions about solving machine problems.

Work very attentively to company safety and cost requirements.

Knowledge of robotic motion controls a plus.

Knowledge of chillers and air compressors a plus.

Must be able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing situations.

Self‑motivated with a desire to learn and continuously improve performance.

Very reliable and punctual attendance.

Must be able to work independently but also collaborate and communicate well with others.

Applies self‑motivation to achieve excellent productivity at $26–$35 hourly plus bonus potential and annual pay increases.
