We have an opportunity in our Vonore, TN manufacturing plant for a 3 rd shift Production Supervisor. Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy leading a team to success? Summary/Purpose Oversee manufacturing operations for Tier‑1 Automotive production in a specific area of the facility.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Assist in developing unit budgets and performance targets
Execute production to achieve customer order / shipment requirements
Support new program launches in the transition of process development to actual manufacturing capability
Supervise and provide direction to reporting team leaders for all operations on responsible shift
Build and support continuity and communications between shifts
Support inventory reduction and cost improvement strategies
Maintain positive employee relations and development
Manage achievement of quality, quantity, and cost objectives
Support ongoing safety initiatives and adherence to safety policies and procedures
Provide leadership to team leaders in the execution of safety, quality, 5S, warranty reduction and achievement of delivery targets, also support all team leader development initiatives
Ensure compliance to all quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures
Work daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays when directed by immediate supervisor or, as necessary, to complete essential job duties.
Perform other duties as assigned
Maintain privacy of all PHI in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for supervising a department of non‑exempt employees in accordance with policies and procedures
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to establish leadership role and promote team system
Strong understanding and commitment to HS&E initiatives
Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in supervision or business‑related field preferred with 2 to 4 years of leadership experience.
Previous experience with lean production, continuous flow, Toyota Production Systems, and metal machining, fabrication or assembly in automotive related industry is a plus.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Sit with intermittent walking
Manual dexterity for such duties as stapling, collating, sorting, filing, typing, and writing
Communicate (hearing and speech) with individuals in person and by phone
Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.
Maintain a minimum of 8 hours worked/day, 5 days/week
Employees may perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
