Material Handler
The Specialty Manufacturing Company, White Bear Lake, Minnesota, United States
Specialty Manufacturing is looking for a proactive and ambitious candidate to join our Team as a Material Handler in our molding production department! This position is primarily responsible for moving, preparing and loading raw materials (resin) into dryers and hoppers. The Material Handler position reports directly to our Warehouse Manager and also partners with our Material Handlers across other production areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
Stage production orders and complete corresponding transactions in the computer
Prepare, mix, and dry resins as instructed
Collect finished goods and transport to shipping/ warehouse
Record lot numbers of raw materials as needed
Put new inventory in a specified warehouse area(s) and complete corresponding documentation materials
Maintain clean and safe production workspaces
Maintain inventory- cycle counts, discrepancies, restock from warehouse, etc.
Identify and report any quality issues or safety concerns
Operate equipment in a safe and compliant manner (forklifts, mixers, drying equipment, and pallet jacks)
All other duties as assigned
Minimum and Preferred Requirements Education
High School or GED required
Forklift certification is preferred- company provides onsite training and certification
Experience
Previous experience in machining or injection molding environment preferred
General manufacturing or warehouse experience required
Knowledge and Skills
Strong attention to detail
Basic math skills
Basic understanding of English for written instruction and documentation purposes
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management
Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse computer software
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. Employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to (50) pounds.
Compensation and Benefits Expected Compensation Range: Hourly, non-exempt- $18- $23
