Responsibilities
Receives, counts, and stores items.
Records receiving data using a computer and company software.
Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items properly and accurately.
Identifies incorrect or short‑shipped items and notifies supervisor.
Communicates with shipping vendors to resolve delivery issues.
Delivers products, supplies, and equipment to the correct designated area.
Works closely with purchasing to track shortages for late/slow delivery.
Files purchase orders correctly based on company policy.
Prints daily sales receipts and cross‑checks computer software for accuracy.
Keeps management and supervisors aware of product shortages to maintain accurate information on the company website.
Assembles and fills boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped.
Prepares detailed and accurate invoices to accompany shipments and ensures all items are packaged and shipped to company standards.
Tracks inventory and reports any shortages to the sales team.
Works with other shipping clerks to see that all invoices are handled promptly and goods are shipped and stored properly.
Examines and inspects stock items for wear and defects.
Responsible for use of required PPE at all times.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Generally 0‑5 years of experience in receiving or shipping.
High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience operating a forklift.
Familiarity with hand and power tools.
Experience with sales order computer software, preferably Oracle.
Knowledge of construction and industrial products.
Bilingual—Spanish a plus.
