Streets Maintenance Worker I Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for highly motivated professionals to fill the position of Streets Maintenance Worker I. The Streets Maintenance Worker I reports to the Streets Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:

Actively participates and accomplishes organizational, departmental, and workgroup goals and objectives.

Performs asphalt repair and replacement; dumps, rakes, spreads, and rolls/compacts asphalt, and responds to and repairs potholes in road surfaces.

Performs crack sealing on Town streets, vacuums, and applies sealant to road cracks.

Performs general maintenance activities associated with fog sealing roadways, surface preparation, and barricading.

Notifies residents and businesses of work being performed as needed; responds to citizen inquiries, complaints, and suggestions.

Performs general cleaning/maintenance tasks necessary to keep vehicles, equipment, and tools in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, checking fluid levels, replacing fluids, greasing equipment, replacing parts, adjusting and replacing gutter brooms, conveyor belts, and pick up brooms, washing/cleaning equipment, or cleaning shop/work areas; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety.

This position is an At‑Will position and is FLSA Non‑Exempt – eligible for overtime compensation.

High School Diploma or GED

1‑2 years of experience in street maintenance work.

Licensing / Certifications

Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement within 6 months of hire.

IMSA‑Work Zone Safety Certification within 12 months of hire, may require Maricopa County Dust Control Certification within 1 year of hire.

This position requires a pre‑employment physical and drug screen.
