JOB SUMMARY UTSW is seeking an Accountant III to join the dynamically growing Medical Group Financial Affairs on our Accounting team. In this important role, you will lend financial support to monthly and annual tasks including journal entries, reconciliation, financial reporting, audit requests, surveys and budget planning. Our ideal candidate has considerable accounting experience, solid knowledge in GAAP, advanced Excel skill such as Data Query & Connections and creating pivot tables.
Please note that this position does not offer H1B visa sponsorship. Selected candidate must reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex or be willing to relocate.
The work setting is majority remote with one in‑office day per month.

JOB DUTIES
Processes monthly journal entries, verifies ledgers for correctness, performs various reconciliations and resolves discrepancies.
Processes collection agencies’ fees recoupment, computes allocation percentages, coordinates PO setup and payments, and maintains data files.
Maintains internal accounting procedures, clerical operations and workflow to maximize efficiency.
Monitors EPIC reports, paycode accuracy, submits payment requests and maintains payment log.
Prepares monthly and/or annual financial reports, schedules and other special reports as required.
Assists with annual audit requests, surveys, and annual budget planning.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Work requires ability to apply mathematical reasoning to analyze data and identify discrepancies in financial accounts.
Work requires ability to exercise considerable judgment in interpretation of policy and application of accounting procedures and practices to work problems.
Work requires advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and work‑processing software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS Office Setting. Remote work with one in‑office day per month.
