Position Overview Under minimal supervision, is responsible for the maintenance and repairs to the building and grounds, related fixed portable equipment and installation. Performance of different tasks which include general maintenance and repair, plant operation and maintenance and preventive maintenance. Complex repairs are escalated to the next level.
Term: Limited, 26 weeks
Job Description Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Education
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Typical Experience
1 year recent relevant experience
Preferred Experience
1 year working with equipment repair and troubleshooting and diagnosing a wide variety of mechanical equipment and machinery problems.
1 year with building systems and equipment and capable of building a maintenance program in accordance with all healthcare regulatory standards and all other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.
Skills and Knowledge
Basic computer skills required
Ability to work well with others
Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to organize/ prioritize work
Employee must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language
Basic knowledge of air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating control systems, including air balance and system calibration procedures for repair and maintenance
Basic knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and procedures for repair and maintenance
Basic knowledge of uniform electrical and building codes
Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building and mechanical trades
Through knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used in the building trades
Ability to inspect systems and buildings to detect existing or potential problems
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to analyze situations and develop an effective course of action
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations as required by the jobAbility to maintain records and prepare reports
Continuing Education, keeps skill set current in the Facilities Maintenance by participating is self-study programs, and training made available by recognized groups in the trade such as Center for Studies in Higher Education (CSHE), ASHE, International Facility Management Association (IFMA), & Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).

Pay Range Pay Range is $57.73 to $63.50 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
