Position Overview Provides breastfeeding assistance and childbirth education programs to all applicable patients. Facilitates lactation education, resources and support to patients and healthcare providers including nurses, mid‑wives, physicians, educators, and social service personnel ensuring services provided are consistent with organizational policies, applicable research and current standards. Delivers individual and classroom lactation education as needed. Evaluates specific lactation problems by telephone and develops a management and follow‑up plan of care when indicated.
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Certification & Licensure
RN-Registered Nurse of California
IBLCE-Certified Lactation Consultant
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
Typical Experience
2 years recent relevant experience
Seasoned acute hospital Lactation RN - preferred
Skills and Knowledge
Maternal-infant assessment skills.
Organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines.
Interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to gather data to complete reports on a timely basis.
Written and verbal interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay Range is $78.91 to $103.37 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
