MEP Mechanical Engineer (HVAC / Plumbing) HVAC Design- Plumbing Design- MEP Engineering-Mechanical Engineering Design Our client is a multi-disciplinary MEP engineering firm specializing in delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective design solutions for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and industrial projects is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the growing team in a full-time permanent staff capacity to contribute to the design and coordination of building HVAC and/or Plumbing systems.

This position is open due to growth*** Responsibilities
Develop HVAC and plumbing system designs, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork/piping layouts, and system sizing.
Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Perform energy code and building code compliance checks.
Conduct site visits, field surveys, and construction inspections to verify installations.
Collaborate closely with architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure coordinated MEP designs.
Support project managers in meeting deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
Assist in preparing proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
Provide guidance to junior engineers and designers; review and check their work.
Stay current with industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies.
Participate in design meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and resolve technical issues during construction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
4–8 years of experience in HVAC and/or plumbing system design within an MEP consulting or design/build environment.
EIT required; PE license (or ability to obtain within 1–2 years) preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
Familiarity with energy modeling software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP) is a plus.
Strong knowledge of building codes and standards: IMC, IPC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IECC.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.
