Mech. Electrical and Plumbing Engineering – Fire Protection Engineer
Union County, New Jersey (Central/Northern NJ) Fulltime permanent staff role Our multidisciplinary MEP engineering and design client, with a reputation for delivering innovative and sustainable building system solutions for commercial, institutional, residential, and healthcare projects is seeking to add a Mid-level or Senior Level Plumbing Engineer with MEP design experience to join the growing team. This individual will play a key role in the organization designing plumbing systems, collaborating with other disciplines, and ensuring successful project delivery. Responsibilities
Contribute to & oversee the preparation of technical drawings, schematics, specifications of plumbing & fire protection systems. Design plumbing & fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and mixed-use projects. Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (IPC, UPC, NFPA, ASPE, etc.). Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and CAD/Revit designers to ensure high-quality project deliverables. Leading project teams and serving as the primary contact with clients Attend meetings with architects, owners, and building managers to discuss future and/or current projects Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Approximately seven (~7+) years of experience in plumbing and mechanical system design within an MEP environment PE license preferred (or actively pursuing). Proficiency with AutoCAD & Revit Knowledge of applicable codes (IPC, ASPE, NFPA, local building codes). Strong communication, managing, mentoring and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a team-oriented environment. Proven ability to successfully lead teams and manage projects Thorough knowledge of plumbing engineering design Excellent ability to read, interpret, and implement plumbing design documentation Benefits
