Beacon Technologies is seeking an IT Manager of Hosting, Network, and Data Services for our client partner. This role is responsible for developing and executing the strategy, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s data management, network and hosting environments, including on‑premises and cloud environments. This Manager ensures secure, reliable, and scalable IT operations, aligning with business objectives while mitigating risks related to security, performance, compliance, and vendor dependencies. This Manager will help support and oversee third‑party vendor relations, resources, and performance including SLA compliance and contractual enforcement. They will lead hosting and network engineers and be responsible for their coaching and development.

Work Location Our first consideration will be to have this new employee live in the state of Wisconsin to take advantage of Hybrid work and collaboration. Employees within 45 miles of Headquarters (Madison, WI) will be expected to be able to work 3 days on‑site a week.

As a secondary consideration, we do offer remote work in the following approved states: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin. If not regionally local to Madison, WI, frequent monthly travel to Headquarters (Madison, WI) will be expected.

How do I know this opportunity is right for me?

Have led the development and execution of infrastructure hosting strategy and management.

Enjoy managing the operation, maintenance, and improvement of hosting platforms including data centers, cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS), servers, and storage systems.

Can oversee data services including databases, backup and recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.

Have managed relationships with hosting vendors, cloud service providers, network WAN carrier service providers, and hardware/software suppliers and can ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of hosting environments in accordance with SLAs.

Excel at collaborating with IT security teams to support the enforcement of security policies and protect hosting and data environments from threats.

Would enjoy being accountable for business and application development stakeholder management.

Can oversee the management of security, audit, and compliance requirements in a high security environment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal IT governance frameworks.

Have established and tracked key performance indicators (KPIs) that ensure transparency in operational health and system performance.

Would like to drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.

Minimum Qualifications

US. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

7 or more years of experience in IT infrastructure, hosting, network and/or data platform management.

3 or more years in management and people leadership - IT vendor management or IT operations management roles.

Strong understanding of IT service management and vendor governance frameworks.

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Extensive knowledge of both on-prem and cloud hosting solutions.

Strong knowledge of the following aspects of Information technology:

Network operations, network security, and network architecture.

Database technologies, backup/restore practices, and disaster recovery planning.

Leading hosting strategies both on-prem and in the cloud.

System monitoring tools and performance tuning.

Capacity planning and performance tuning of hosting and database solutions.

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Vulnerability management.

ITIL practices, change management, and incident response procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

10 or more years of IT leadership experience in a large enterprise level environment.

Experience leading in a complex and highly matrixed environment that has commercial and government lines of business.

Remote Work Requirements

High speed cable or fiber internet.
