**Position Title:**Facility Service Worker**Job Code:**Job Code: FASWKR**Pay Range:**$24.46 - $34.48**Job Description:****JOB** **TITLE: FACILITY SERVICE WORKER****NONEXEMPT****REPRESENTED**SUMMARYPerform a variety of building and grounds maintenance duties including cleaning, repairing, grounds upkeep, and maintenance of shop equipment, facility parking lots, park and ride lots, bus stops, and signs.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITYThe incumbent will perform regular and recurring work situations involving a moderate degree of complexity and operate from established and well-known policies, procedures and safety practices. All work will be performed in accordance with safety procedures. Individuals assigned to this classification perform proficiently and independently under the general direction of the Facility Maintenance Manager and Lead Facility Maintenance Worker.Responsible to assure thoroughness and quality to prevent potential liabilities for equipment related accidents and to see that work is performed in accordance with sound safety practices.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS***The following summarizes the essential or key responsibilities/attributes of the position the incumbent will be required to perform with or without reasonable accommodation:***Operate vehicles such as transit coaches and support vehicles as authorized and necessary to accomplish primary responsibilities.Monitor security of assigned equipment and facilities. Report unusual conditions to supervisor or police department as conditions warrant.Clean bus shelters, transit centers, and park and rides to include picking up trash, pressure washing, and biohazard cleanup. Remove trash from bus service stops.Sweep parking lots and streets at all C-TRAN facilities.Perform light carpenter work and basic building maintenance to include changing light bulbs, shutting off leaking plumbing fixtures, resetting switches, and clearing plugged commodes and drains, etc.Perform basic grounds maintenance, including lawn mowing, edging, and weeding, as required at C‑TRAN’s main facility, transit centers, bus stops, and park and ride lots.Perform basic painting functions, including removal of graffiti.Perform furniture, equipment, and office moves.Perform a variety of tasks during Adverse Weather events such as operating snowplows, sanding, snow blowing, and de-icing equipment; chaining buses and assisting disabled equipment; removing snow from passenger areas; and operating water/chemical trucks, tractors, and loaders.OTHER FUNCTIONSAssist with installing and replacing bus stop signs as necessary.Assist with bus stop shelter installation and/or replacement, including installation or removal of

concrete work.Assist with the installation, repair, removal, or replacement of electrical devices or electrical wiring, and pulling wiring for communications, etc.Assist with servicing shop equipment, bus washer, and steam cleaner.Assist with the removal, replacement, and/or repair of plumbing fixtures.Assist in fabrication of needed items, such as brackets, bench seats, storage racking, and other specialty items.Assist in the repair of broken or damaged shop equipment by using cutting and welding equipment.When needed, may help the Vehicle Service Workers with cleaning and maintaining the fluid levels of the

transit coaches and support vehicles.Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESRequires knowledge of the field of assignment sufficient to perform thoroughly and accurately the full scope of assigned duties with minimum supervision.Requires the ability to read, write clearly, and perform simple mathematic equations.Requires basic knowledge and skills of mechanical systems, plumbing, woodworking, and carpentry.Knowledge of grounds maintenance and botany is desired.Ability to operate a two-way radio.Ability to safely operate transit coaches and motor vehicles.Requires the ability and mechanical skills to maintain and use various gas and electrical shop and grounds equipment including, but not limited to, power mowers, edgers, sweepers, washers, skill saws, and drills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONSAbility to perform continuous physical effort including frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, twisting, manipulation, lifting and carrying of shop equipment and materials.Responsibilities of position may result in exposure to environmental influences (beyond normal office environment) such as poor ventilation and illumination, loud noises, adverse weather conditions, congestion, and accidents or health hazards on the job which includes working with chemicals and operating equipment/machinery.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSRegular, dependable attendance required.Must be able to work any day of the week and/or any shift including days, swing, and graveyard.Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state of residence and maintain a good driving record. A commercial driver’s license will be required within a specified time frame, determined by the supervisor, to maintain this position.Must be able to comply with C-TRAN’s nonsmoking policy and function in a nonsmoking work environment.Must pass an employment physical examination and drug test to be certified for the position and maintain a physical condition which, either with or without accommodation, allows completion of all essential duties.This is a safety sensitive position subject to Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations.If selected for the position, documentation that you are a United States citizen or an alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States will be required to establish your identity and work authorization in accordance with the employer’s obligation under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.This position is covered under the provisions of an agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union, Local 1432, District 24.If selected for this position, employment will be conditional pending completion of a criminal background investigation.All employees are required to retain public records, in accordance with C-TRAN’s Public Disclosure Policy No. 510.
