This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Defense Production Facility on a full-time basis (shift is four 10's, Monday - Thursday).

The Role As a leader in Supply Chain, you will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of individual contributors for one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain Organization: manufacturing/ warehouse operations, supply chain systems and processes, launch execution and scheduling and material management.

You will act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide support.

What You'll Do

Responsible for leading the Supply Chain office operations for direct materials including purchased parts, production planning, and customer orders.

Leads crisis management for supplier issues and manages premium transportation.

Ensures correct inventories for all components – T1, Bailment, Catalog.

Coordinates Annual Physical Inventory and reconciles gains/losses.

Completes mid-year and year-end salary CAP assessments.

Supports GMS and BIQ 4 initiatives for SLT principals as a Subject Matter Expert.

Leads cost reduction initiates pertaining to inventory management and premium transportation.

Audits SAP data for inventory accuracy.

Supervises, trains and develops salaried employees

Follow-up on problem solving initiatives related to stock discrepancies

Supports material activities surrounding a plan for every part for MVB and all launch activities

Interfaces with Central Office allocation on part issues as required

Implements, monitors and maintains GMS elements

Investigates supplier claims of unpaid bills

Investigates duplicate receipts

Performs a daily audit of record adjustments including MR/DR reviews

Responsible for stock / record balance accuracy

Ensure GM inventory and capital investment is protected

Develop and implement cost savings projects

Physical Requirements

Quick response to safety instructions, alarms, and signals are a must

Drive vehicles and equipment when needed

Comfortably wear personal protective equipment

Ability to walk and stand for extended periods

Navigate a busy warehouse

Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach

May need to lift or carry materials weighing up to 40 lbs. depending on department

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee).

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Supply chain, Industrial) or equivalent experience

Minimum 5 years of equivalent experience (Mfg. and Supply chain)

High level of analytical ability & problem solving where problems are unusual and difficult.

Experience with using SAP/MGO/Oracle or similar ERP, MS-Office tools (Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint)
