Midkiff, TX Schedule:
5/2 | 40 hours per week Pay Rate:
$65/hr
Position Overview The Instrumentation & Controls Coordinator / Automation Tech II provides subject matter expertise to operations and maintenance teams in support of safe, reliable, and efficient operation of instrumentation, control systems, and analyzers. This role serves as a technical authority for I&C equipment and procedures, supports complex troubleshooting efforts, and assists with maintenance design, project execution, and turnaround activities. The position requires strong SSHE awareness, the ability to influence without authority, and effective collaboration across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Implement maintenance design philosophies and project specifications for
Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)
systems
Provide technical support for
risk assessments, incident investigations , and pre-FEED/FEED studies
Support cost management initiatives and
productivity improvement plans
Assist operating teams with
complex troubleshooting
and provide operational support during peak workloads
Participate in constructability and maintenance design reviews
Support engineering with routine maintenance, turnaround execution, and new project support
Provide technical input to
training development and delivery
Share best practices and provide feedback for continuous improvement
Develop and maintain strong personal technical expertise and share knowledge through internal networks
Skills and Qualifications Required
Prior experience in a closely related
Instrumentation & Controls or Automation
role
Strong understanding of
Safety, Security, Health, and Environmental (SSHE)
requirements
Demonstrated maintenance expertise with:
Instrumentation
Control systems
Analyzers
PLC/DCS systems
Strong behavioral skills including
adaptability, analytical thinking, collaboration, and communication
Discipline-appropriate certifications or equivalent professional experience
Ability to clearly describe field conditions and recommend remediation actions
Strong teamwork skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority
Ability to manage
tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities
Proficient in
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
