DRH Search
We're assisting a well funded startup in the govtech space with their search for product engineers. They provide custom software for state and local governments, helping to modernize a largely outdated sector. The role will work onsite in their Flatiron NY office, and they're hiring multiple engineers in this capacity.
What you'll do:
Build user-friendly, reliable software for government officials
– work closely with our government partners to develop and implement software that replaces legacy, hidebound mainframe and pen-and-paper systems.
Own internal tooling
– design and maintain the internal systems that orchestrate long, back-to-back AI pipelines and agents across tasks and users.
What you'll bring:
Project history – what have you built in a vacuum?
Strong fluency in
Backend
(Python and/or Node) and modern
Frontend
development (React, TailwindCSS, or similar)
Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Factory, Codex, Gemini-CLI, etc.) as part of your workflow.
Comfort spinning up small full-stack apps: API, data model, simple UI, deployment.
US work authorization;
US citizen
Willingness to work
in-person in Flatiron, NYC (5 days/week).
Nice-to-haves:
Experience at a startup or as a founder / founding engineer.
Familiarity with long-running workflows, background workers, queues, or “agentic” AI orchestration.
Comfort talking to customers and sitting in on live demos.
