Overview Position Summary: The Field Service Technician II position involves a higher level of responsibility in performing and assisting with major component exchanges for wind turbines. You will work more independently than a Technician I, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining wind turbine systems. This role requires a solid understanding of wind turbine operations and mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as a proactive approach to safety.

Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:

Lead and assist in major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and nacelle components.

Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on turbine systems.

Perform detailed inspections and preventative maintenance on wind turbines.

Lead small teams or mentor Field Service Technician Is on jobsites.

Ensure all service work is completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of safety.

Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including part usage and job performance.

Participate in regular safety briefings and uphold a strong safety culture at all times.

Qualifications Requirements Education and Work Experience Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent; specialized training in wind turbine technology or related field preferred.

2-4 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company’s Zero Injury principles.

Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing wind turbine systems.

Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.

Required to travel to different jobsites on a limited notice.

Proven ability to work in a safety-first environment with proactive safety behaviors.

Working Environment

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat.

Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
