Summary We are seeking an experienced and skilled
Windows Systems Administrator
to join our IT infrastructure team supporting a mission-critical federal environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Windows-based systems, networks, and applications. Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, maintain, and support Windows-based server and desktop environments
Administer and support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and related core services
Deploy and manage Windows systems using enterprise deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT)
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources
Provide technical support to end users via phone, email, and in-person support
Administer and support enterprise email systems, including Microsoft Exchange and Outlook
Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations
Develop, maintain, and update system administration documentation and procedures
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure successful integration of new technologies
Apply operating system updates, security patches, and best practices
Travel up to 20% as required for on-site installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting at customer sites or data centers
Qualifications
Minimum of
3+ years
of experience as a Windows Systems Administrator or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Windows Desktop operating systems
Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS
Experience with Windows deployment and configuration tools (SCCM, MDT)
Understanding of backup and disaster recovery concepts and procedures
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a secure, fast-paced environment
Certifications Required
Active
TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
(must be a current active clearance)
Preferred / Beneficial Skills
Experience installing, configuring, and supporting Linux (Server and/or Workstation)
Scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Python, and/or Bash
Microsoft certifications such as
MCSA, MCSE , or equivalent industry certifications
Knowledge of security best practices, including firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V, KVM)
SQL Server administration experience
Familiarity with IT service management tools and frameworks (e.g., ServiceNow)
Salary: 130-160K
