Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Mechanical Construction Manager to join our team for a construction project in Milano, Texas, USA (on-site position).

2 years - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.

Summary:

The Mechanical Construction Manager oversees and coordinates all mechanical aspects of solar energy construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met. This role focuses on the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems such as racking, trackers, and mounting structures, and requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of utility scaler renewable energy projects.

Main Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the planning and execution of mechanical construction activities for solar energy projects, collaborating with clients, engineers, and project teams to develop detailed scopes of work and material requirements.

Schedule and coordinate mechanical construction in logical steps, budgeting time and resources to meet project deadlines.

Prepare and submit mechanical budget estimates; regularly communicate with project management and clients regarding progress and costs.

Ensure adherence to mechanical budgets, making necessary adjustments when complications or issues arise.

Plan, coordinate, organize, and direct activities related to the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems (e.g., racking, trackers, mounting structures) for solar farms.

Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in mechanical construction.

Select, contract, and oversee mechanical subcontractors; supervise their work to ensure quality standards and adherence to specifications.

Oversee contract negotiations, revisions, and adherence by all parties for mechanical scopes.

Collaborate with clients, supervisory staff, contractors, and design professionals to resolve mechanical work procedures, complaints, and construction or design issues.

Manage and lead actions necessary due to delays, weather, or emergencies affecting mechanical construction.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workers.

Ensure compliance with mechanical codes, standards, and project specifications relevant to solar installations.

Review mechanical design drawings, inspect work, and ensure quality assurance and quality control at all stages of the project.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday: 40 hours weekly
