Responsibilities
Educate and assist new mothers with physical and emotional needs during the post partum period.
Care for both mothers and newborns after delivery.
Monitor mothers in the hours following delivery and ensure proper recovery; recognize postpartum depression and guide mothers on emotional coping.
Teach new parents how to care for, bathe, breastfeed, and/or bottle-feed the newborn and monitor infant health.
Requirements
Active RN License
Degree from an accredited nursing program
BLS, ACLS & NRP Certification
Minimum 18 months of recent experience in an acute care mother/baby setting
Other requirements to be determined by client facility
