Job Summary The Staff Accountant / Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting daily and monthly accounting operations across multiple entities. Working closely with the Controller and Accounting Manager, this position helps ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely close processes. This role is well suited for an accounting professional who enjoys hands‑on work, thrives in a growing environment, and wants exposure to multi‑entity accounting within a private equity structure. As the organization continues to scale, this role offers meaningful opportunities for expanded responsibility and career progression.
Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice review and payment processing
Review project billing prepared by project managers prior to entry into the accounting system
Assist with payroll processing through the accounting software
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
Support month‑end close activities, including journal entry preparation
Assist with multi‑entity accounting and consolidation for reporting purposes
Monitor, follow, and recommend internal control procedures related to accounting functions
Handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality
Qualifications
2-7 years of progressive accounting experience (preferably within the construction industry)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Experience with accounting software and strong Excel skills
Background in project accounting and work‑in‑process schedules
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearance
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range of $80,000–$100,000 depending on experience
